2022 Por Allá
Our new wine release this year is the 2022 Por Allá. This blend comes from vineyards in Santa Barbara County, specifically Alta Mesa and Nolan. It is the counterpart to the F.A. Por Allá, and the name is local Spanish slang for "way over there." You pronounce it "Pohr ah-YAH!" I've been wanting to make this Cabernet-based wine from Alta Mesa for over 20 years.

Tasting Notes
Exotic, alluring, cherry chutney, blackberry compote, creme de cassis, pencil shavings, worn leather, musky & sweet pipe tobacco, clove, cardamom, juniper berry, French Press coffee, warm creosote. The palate leads with bass notes, generous and supple, seamlessly gliding to a tense, lively, savory, and spicy finish.

Production Notes
Components were de-stemmed and fermented separately in stainless steel and large concrete tanks. The wine spent between 20-40 days on the skins with a combination of pumpovers and punchdowns during fermentation. Aged 20 months in French oak 500-liter puncheons and 265-liter barriques, 65% of which were new.
