Hommage a Stevan Larner was first introduced in 2006 to honor Stevan Larner who planted Larner Vineyard in 1998. 2022 marked the 20th year Mac has purchased fruit from the vineyard and he has brought back Hommage a Stevan Larner to commemorate. Mac will continue to produce this wonderful blend every vintage going forth. 

Vinification:

10% whole cluster fermented in small, open-top bins, spending between 20-25 days on skins, with a combination of pump overs and punchdowns during cold soak and fermentation. Syrah was co-fermented with Viognier. Aged 16 months; Grenache in neutral 500-liter puncheons, Syrah in 265-liter barriques. 60% new oak.

Tasting Notes:

Incredible dichotomy of fruits, and savory earth tones. Hyacinth flower, satsuma plum, ripe nectarine, strawberry guava, lychee, pomegranate syrup, rib-roast, sweet olive, vanilla bean. Ethereal texture, mulberry silk, with fresh, mouthwatering, juicy acidity, and persistent levity.
