2022 Beautiful Earth Cab Magnum
This is our second vintage of this extraordinary wine. We have access to truly exceptional vineyards that are producing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the country. It just made sense to add Cab to the Beautiful Earth series of wines.
Tasting Notes:
Black currant reduction, smoked black cherries, chocolate ganache, sweet tobacco, French press coffee, tri-tip crust, and bay leaf. Powerful attack transitions into a broad, supple mid-palate. Persistent, youthful, and spry tannins. Structural, contemplative, and eternal finish.
Vinification:
Components were destemmed and fermented in small open-top bins, and stainless steel tanks. The wine spent between 20-25 days on the skins with a combination of pump-overs and punchdowns during fermentation. Aged 18 months in a combination of 225 and 265-liter barriques, 65% of which were new.
2021 Scores
96 Points, Robert Parker - The 2021 Beautiful Earth Cabernet Sauvignon is scented of maraschino cherries, allspice, rose petals, bay leaves, and pencil shavings, gaining in aromatic intensity as it unwinds in the glass. The full-bodied palate has a deep core of fruit yet is light on its feet, with fireworks of fresh acidity and abundant, finely-grained tannins, and it has a long, layered finish. It will gain savory complexity in bottle over the next 15+ years. - Erin Brooks
95 Points, Wine Enthusiast - Roasted black currant, blueberry, and strawberry aromas are impressively dense and instantly appealing on the fruit-driven nose of this bottling. The palate is creamy and dense yet also bright, offering blackberry and violet flavors in a comforting style. — Matt Kettmann
