Larner Vineyard has been around since 1999 and can be found in the stunning Ballard Canyon AVA of the Santa Ynez Valley. It's well-known for its delicious, fruity Syrahs that grow in the midst of rolling hills, coastal winds, and fog.

Vinification:

15% whole cluster fermented in small, open-top bins, spending between 20-25 days on skins, with a combination of pump overs and punchdowns during cold soak and fermentation. Aged 18 months in 100% new oak 265-L barriques.

Tasting Notes:

Macerated plums, ripe mulberries, citrus flower, night-blooming jasmine, sweet olive, au jus, charcuterie, graphite, cigar box, camphor, all glide to a satin and persistent finish.

96 Points, Robert Parker - "The 2021 Syrah Larner Vineyard is detailed and pure, although it takes plenty of air to really open. Blackcurrant, peppermint patty, violet, and coffee beans are underpinned by tones of smoked meats and iodine. The full-bodied palate is powerful yet elegant, its concentrated, mineral-driven fruit framed by powdery tannins and focused acidity. It has a tremendously long finish and will develop complexity in bottle over the next 15+ years."
