2018 Paper Street Vineyard Clairette Blanche
In the Willow Creek District lies Paper Street Vineyard. This land was used for barley and almonds until the mid-1990’s but was mostly abandoned until the Dusi family planted vines here. The limestone-white hills, hot days, and cool nights make for concentrated, vibrant, and mineral-driven wines.
Whole cluster pressed into stainless steel. Long, slow, cool fermentation at 60F and aged in neutral 265 L barrique, 500 L puncheon and stainless steel. Partial malolactic acid fermentation. Aged 10 months prior to bottling.
Tuberose, night-blooming Jasmine, fresh-cut pineapple, Chinese white pear, saltwater taffy, and cake batter on the nose. White peach, white currant, golden kiwi, sweet lime, loquat, warm spiced braised quince, and vanilla bean poached pears on the palate. The finish is mineral, lively, and textural.
