2017 Les Galets Magnum
This bottle may be sold out, but we'd like to invite you to try our 2017 Cuvée Kristina, which received 96 points from Wine Enthusiast and is the Cellar Selection. This is our most special wine, as it's the wine I make for my wife, Kristina. It is comprised of the most elite barrels of that particular vintage. 2017 contains the best barrels from Larner, Les Galets, and Shadow Canyon Vineyards (all of which also received high scores themselves), and is made up of more than 50% Les Galets Syrah. For those wanting to get in on Les Galets, Cuvée Kristina is sure to impress.
26 acres of the 620 acres Laetitia Vineyard is planted to Syrah in one of the coolest growing regions in the state; a mere 4 miles from the ocean. Calcareous and volcanic soils on a south-facing slope combine to produce grapes that yield supple and concentrated wines.
30% whole cluster fermented in concrete and small, open-top bins, and spent 15-30 days on skins with a combination of pump-overs and punch-downs during fermentation. Aged 18 months in 265 and 228-liter barriques, 35% new oak.
Blueberry, sweet pipe tobacco, shade-grown coffee, charred tri-tip, polished leather, brined couchillo olives, cardamom, fresh Thai pepper, and wood-grilled plums. Rich and densely packed with a briny, mineral-laced finish.
